You won’t find me reviewing many Vlogs. In my experience they mostly suck. There are a few notable exceptions: SXEPhil and Nalts, but for the most part, I don’t get any sort of kick from watching someone’s video diary. Illdoctrine.com however, is a fantastic vlog and well worth regular viewing.

Jay Smooth’s vlog is titled  a Hip-Hop vlog, but it is so much more. From what I can gather, Jay’s a DJ and extremely active in the NYC hip-hop scene. And while getting a deeper insight into a scene that has never really spoken to me is interesting, it’s Jay’s sane commentary that appeals.

He has achieved the perfect portions of charisma, every-day eloquence and technical video skills. I geek-out over his editing style. I’m fascinated by his ability to make me nod in agreement at everything he says. But mostly, I’m just happy to find such wisdom and human insight in our online video back alleyways and crawlspaces.

5 out of 5 stars, Jay has everything from on-camera presence, perfect hanlding of topics and excelletn tech. You really should be watching ill doctrine.
