Okay, ladies and gents. Perhaps I was a bit too rash in my previous article about my frustration with the perceived lack of movement from Strike.tv. I received a mail a day ago stating that a launch date has been chosen October 28th and that I should keep my eyes open for it. Here’s the mail:

Dear Strike.TV’ers,

How has the beta been going for you? What do you think of our first
week’s worth of shows? We can’t thank you all enough for all of the
input you’ve given us, and we can’t wait to show you more!

Happily, we can finally announce that Strike.TV will be officially
launching on October 28th – and, as some of you may have heard, you
will also be able to watch many Strike.TV shows at Joost and Youtube.

As we get closer to launch, we’ll have a lot more news for you, so
keep up with our news via Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and LiveJournal.

Best,

Strike.TV

I, for one, was happy to get a launch date announced and interested to hear that the shows would also be available on Youtube and Joost (more on that story by the good folks over at Tubefilter). It seems that contractual issues over distrubtion were at the heart of the delays.

Personally, I intend to watch the shows over at the Stirke.tv directly. I’m not a fan of Youtube’s video qualtiy (yes, even in HD) and Joost doesn’t do it for me. I like the navigation I’ve seen over at the Strike.tv website, so why bother going somewhere else?

After logging in over at the beta site, I was pleased to see a whole slew of new shows added to the “coming soon” list. There looks to be a lot of really interesting content coming out, certainly a little something for everybody. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on which shows to watch and which shows to avoid.

Till then, keep you eyes peeled on the 28th of October and be sure to check out the shows that I’ve already reviewed!
