Hey video junkies, it’s Halloween and I know that you really would like nothing better than to turn out the lights, sit back somewhere warm and cozy (it’s snow-raining out my window tonight and I bet it sucks where you are too), grab some of that candy you mugged off the last kids who rang your doorbell and fill your little minds with grotesque and scary things.

But where to start? What to watch? The internet is a big place and you could waste hours pawing through all the online video content out there before you found something worth watching. Don’t fret, my pretties, the Critic is here to help.

Here is it is, The Online Video Review special Halloween Video Recommendations. Be afraid:

Fearnet hosted 2 different video campaigns for the movie 30 Days of Night each of which showed a lead-in story to the movie in several Webisodes. The movie kinda sucked but the webisodes were gorey good fun: Check out 30 Days of night: Blood Trails and 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust

Drexelbox’s Youtube mega collaboration called “the Bloody Door” is pretty good fun. It’s an obvious rip-off of “the Ring” about a Youtube video that if watched, kill you, but with a distinct comedic bent and loads of cameos by Youtubers big and small – even Michael Buckley got involved. And if you’re brave enough to want to watch the haunted, killer video, just click here.

If you haven’t seen the Zombie chose-your-own-adventure video phenomina called Survive the outbreak, you really should go watch it and see how many attempts you require to make it out alive. Ther eare supposedly 2  ways, but I’ve only found 1.

2009 A True Story is an apocalyptic political thriller about what happens after a terrorist attack hits LA. It is good viewing for those less interested in gore and more psychological horror. It’s visually interesting (if not beautiful) but sometimes very full of itself.

Tom Holland’s 5 or Die, takes classic horror splatter movies to the small screen. If you get this mail in your in-box, don’t frick’n open it an for god’s sake. This one is also good gory fun – I had to wait till I was in the office to wathc it becasue it gave me the creeps.

And last but not least, I’m gonna plug Luke11:17 again. It’s just a creepy, good show about a motivational speaker and his drug-adled murderous hidden life. This has really turned out to be an excellent show since I reviewd it awhile back.

Now that’s a good 3-4 hours of viewing right there, enough to get you through at least till midnight. After that, you’re on your own.
