“Ten Hail Marys for your impure thoughts…whore“. That’s it. That the best line, the funniest moment from the two episodes of the Blah Girls that I’ve seen so far (although “sponging leads to forking” is a close second). It’s not like they didn’t try, maybe I’m just jaded.

I didn’t want to start this post off by saying that “the Blah Girls are really Blah” that would be trite. Kind of like the two episodes of the Blah Girls that I’ve just watched.

The premise is kinda sorta cute. A couple of animated pre-teen girls talk about celebrity gossip and make the kind of off-comments that we’d expect from Cartman and the South Park crew. Seeing how South Park is over 10 years old, one might have thought that the Blah Girls creators…a famous guy married to a famous lady and someone else, who’s name I can’t remember might have been a bit more creative in their aspirations. But, no. They aren’t.

You probably chuckled. I did grin, once or twice….but if I weren’t an online video critic, I probably would not be inclined to return and watch this show - despite the clever product placement (anyone guess what that was?)

That being said, I’m most certainly not the target group of this show (me being a well educated, successful and handsome 30-something guy). But who is? I neither know nor care.

I’m just interested in good content, and this really isn’t something that I’d be recommending to others – even people who I think might be in the target audience (teenage girls, who know too much about celebrity gossip…and Michael Buckley).

Normally I’d review the plot, the tech, the writing, but what’s the point. I just feel so blah after watching it. I’m going to go have a doughnut. Perhaps you should go get one too, rather than watch this show.

the Bottom Line:

I’m not recommending ths show, 2 out of 5 stars. I do hope that it picks up and I will be checking back on the show…sigh, but for now, save yourself the effort and go watch something better, like Nalts said.
