The Clip Critics are one of the best web comedy series currently out there and that’s saying a lot, since the comedy genre is THE online video genre -überhaupt. Charles Trippy is no schlep in the scene, himself,  having amassed many thousands of subscribers and many millions of views (not to mention coming in second on the “Next Internet Millionaire” series and earning a cool $40k in sales of his DVD in the first week. So, it’s cool to see the two getting together.

In what seems like oracle-like foresight, Nalts wrote an article about the importance of doing cameo’s in other people’s videos a while back. That might be because all the Retarded Policemen guest appearances were just rounding up, but sure enough, the cross-pollination of the Youtube cool kids is still ongoing and now we have Charles Trippy (in a bitch’n Black Flag t-shirt) doing the Clip Critics.

And in case you didn’t know several of the top Youtubers (celebrities, welebrities, cewbrietis…whatever) are getting into a new HBO-sponsored web series…. Cameo appearances seem to be the fad of the summer/fall.

Let’s see how much entertainment millage this brings us. I, for one, do not believe that just because a popular video producers shows up in someone else’s production that the result will be that much better. It may be good for the stats and in getting new subscribers….but as a viewer, I could care less about those things. I want good content. period! And since Trippy has already had one stinky cameo on the Retarded Policeman’s Ass-burgers episode, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that his Clip Critics cameo goes better.
