Legend of Neil Season One Level One is finally over. Neil (Tony Janning) meets and defeats the level 1 big boss – an empathetic dragon. Oh….uh, spoiler alert!
True to Tony and Sandeep Parikh’s track record so far, episode 6 has lots of funny twists, Legend of Zelda geekdom and tips-of-the-hat to the film world (most notably in this one, “Good Will Hunting”). And as always, I laughed my ass off and immediately re-watched the episode, not wanting it to be over so soon. Have a look for yourself.
Looking back over the past 6 episodes it’s clear that Tony, Sandeep, Leah Mann (producer responsible for all the set design and costumes) and all the rest of the cast and crew have put together a compulsively funny show that I need to see more of.
Although supposedly sponsored by Comedy Central’s Online presence, Atom, I have the strong suspicion that Sandeep and Co. have been pulling this one off pretty much on their own and that says a lot. Sure the sets and costumes are tongue in cheek campy and sure the editing and lighting are less than TV-perfect but these folks are doing it on their own and so I really have to hand it to them:
Job Well Done for the first season, er..level
I do hope that the financing come through for more shows. As we all know, the online video crawl spaces and back-alleys are crowded with content and it’s by no means an easy thing to get noticed. If you’re a regular reader here and have enjoyed the Legend of Neil, I’d encourage you to go vote for them on Atom’s website and subscribe to their chanel on Youtube. It does make a difference.
