There are currently 6 episodes of Luke 11:17 out. I’d suggest that you stop everything and go watch them right now.

Ryan V. Cafeo plays a motivational speaker called Luke Vincent. In between imparting advice to his audience about living for today and ridding yourself of fear and regret, he’s a drug addled killer. Luke’s unusual life, that of a motivational speaker and writer vs. his violent, drugged fueled, hyper-sexual side, provides the core story matter for this show. It’s graphically violent, creepy and very well made. I’m hooked.

Dark subject matter is nothing new to online video, what is notable here is the quality of the production and acting as well as the razor-sharp story, so far. Rooster films (Cafeo and his partner Christopher Sherman) is handling this thriller with a deft hand.

I’ve embedded the first episode here, but they get progressively more interesting (ep. three kills!), so it is worth digging deeper on this one. Luke’s double life makes for fascinating viewing and although I’m not sure just where they are taking us on this ride, the title of the series most certainly gives us a clue:

“But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.”

Frankly, this could and probably should be a main-stream media project...in the sense that the quality of content and production is so good. I’m glad it’s not, however, and that the show is currently in the hands of dedicated indie producers. They have no qualms about serving up their disturbing content and when Luke goes unhinged….well, let’s just say that it makes for interesting viewing.

the Bottom Line:

5 out of 5 stars right out of the box for this one. Everything works well, here and this is must-see online video..not for the weak of heart and stomach.
