Ilike irreverent, border-line comedy, the kind of stuff that you watch with your buddies but would never admit to watching in polite company…but here’s the thing, it’s really easy to fuck-up this kind of comedy. To take a potentially funny idea and to turn it into a great steaming big pile of…ahem, something not worth watching (the meat grinder show, anyone?). So I’m always happy to find an online video show that actually gets it right. CRACKLE’s “Star-ving” featuring Married With Children’s David Faustino (Bud Bundy) and Parker Lewis Can’t Lose’s Corin Nemec (Parker Lewis).
Season one will consist of 13 episodes, 7 of which are live as of this article. What’s it about? I’ll save you actually having to read, here’s the intro reel:
The comedic timing is perfect- thanks in part to clever script (Dave and Corin)and some good post-production, this is obviously professionally done. I should also mention that there have been some pretty great celebrity cameo’s in each episode (Gilbert Gottfried, Coolio, Ron Jeremy and fellow MWC alumni Ed O’Neil and Christina Applegate). In short, this is a show I’d actually dust off my old TV and turn on to see.
Then again, you probably wouldn’t see thie one on TV…there’s too much foul language, poo-humor and waaaay too many scenes with Dave in nothing but his tighty whites and one horrifically funny scene of Corin’s bare, un-wiped ass (ep. 2)…not to mention the that they’ve killed an overweight “retard”, used the “N” word in Compton, Jew jokes, suicide jokes, naked boobs (ep. 5) and lots of other unmentionable things that the FCC would never let you watch…so they are confined to the small screen. Thank god, ’cause I for one appreciate the influx of professional talent and creativity into our online video crawl space.
CRACKLE has done it again and I’d recommend that all you serious online video watchers get off the Youtube crack-pipe and check out what Sony has been up to lately.
Felicia Day and Kim Evey are making some big waves in the online video pond with their show the Guild. Having cleaned up with a Youtube, Yahoo, ONNetworks and SXSW awards with their first season, amassed over 9 million views and single-handedly put the niche of MMORG on the radar of every net-savvy producer out [...]
Val Verde is a small Latin American country which produces and exports evil henchmen..you know, the guys who get offfed in all the adventure movies early on – the ones who spent several minutes shooting at the hero and then get popped by the hero’s one well-placed, over-the-shoulder shot.
In this 60Frames original show, we follow [...]
You never know what you’ll get when you put a bunch of stars together tell ‘m to sing about politics. Funny or Die got it right with this one about Prop. 8 in California (you know, about gay marriages).

This is just a short heads up to let you know that the Guild Season 2, episode 1 is out! I can’t embed it here because it belongs exclusively to MSN video. It’s great – go watch it.
The story continues with Zabo and Codec getting kicked out out Codec’s house by Zabo’s mom….and I [...]
I first reviewed the Meatgrinder show in July. Back then they had only 3 episodes and a handful of PSA’s. The show was rough around the edges but had certain dirty charm – if you could get past the overtly sexual puppet themes. Since then, Chris Erb, Dal Wolf and Dan Mott have put out [...]
Listen folks, one of the top online video comedy series, Casanovas, is out there knocking on doors trying to get the funds to put out a second season. And let me tell you, I NEED to see a second season…and if you’ve watched the show, you’d feel the same way.
So, here’s a few things that [...]
Ever wondered what it would be like to take just one “cycle” of steroids? Just a little taste to jump start getting that new massive, ripped body that you’ve always wanted? Scrawny, nerdy Peter Brown asked himself that very question, but unlike most of us, he decided to actually give ‘roids a try….and to make [...]
Stike.tv is in full swing, and I’m over all my hysterical whining about there not being enough new content to warrant the hype. One of the things that I believe will make the advent Stike.tv so important is the fact that it is bringing many neglected genres to online video. Sketch comedy is soooo 2005, [...]
I’ve put out two negative articles about the Blah Girls. I’m not ashamed to call out something that sucks, and the Blah Girls have really sucked. That’s part of the reason I’m here doing this, to separate myself from the sycophants and idiots who normally review web video (no links this time).
But today, I’m going [...]
